その空間に存在する非物質的な要素：光や風 温度 音 匂い をわたしは写真という形で採取する

1975年生まれ。2004年に商業写真家としてキャリアをスタートさせる。学生時代の旅で出会った一人の女性の日常を記録した私的な作品で、2007年にAPA AWARDにおいて最高賞を受賞、本格的に作家としての活動を開始する。その詩的な感性は商業写真の分野でも評価され、多くの企業広告を手がけてきた。
現在は、目には見えない「存在の粒子」一人の記憶や空間に宿る光や気配をテーマに制作を継続的に行なっている。またこれらの活動と並行し、写真の原点に触れるサイアノタイプのワークショップを主宰している。

Mina Imai (b. 1975) is a photographer based in Kanagawa, Japan. She began her career as a commercial photographer in 2004, quickly gaining recognition for her exceptional technical skill and artistic vision. In 2007, she received the prestigious Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Award, the highest honor at the APA AWARD, one of Japan’s authoritative photography competitions.
Her current work explores the theme of “Particles of Being: The Intangible Elements of a Space-Light, Temperature, Humidity, and the Flow of Air.” In parallel with these activities, she hosts cyanotype workshops, sharing the foundational process of photography.

If all things in this world are composed of particles like atoms and molecules, then my gaze is drawn to the “atmosphere” woven by their collective presence.
The wind grazing the skin, the silence that lingers, the gentle warmth of time spent with another.

I collect these “Particles of Being”—the intangible elements inhabiting a space：light, wind, temperature, sound, and scent—in the form of photographs.
